Summary: Tower radiation system operational. Sonic alignment.

On Sunday, 20 May

The tower radiation system became operational. The
Temp/RH sensor I installed did not work correctly and will be replaced on
my next site visit. Although we are currently logging this data, the
MD9/PC208 configuration has not been installed so we do not have pc
communication at this time and data must be downloaded manually.

The output of the 23x on the tower is as follows: 10 sec execution interval
- 30 min averages
all values are in milivolts except for the Panel T (degreeC), Batt_Volt
(Volts), Temp ambient (degree C) and RH (%)

Similarly, the net radiation standard was installed at the Vaira site and
became operational on Sunday Model CNR1 sn 990181 10.19 uV/W/m2 cal

Last Sunday 20May Ted aligned the sonic anemometer on the tower such that its' North indicator line is pointing toward 13 degrees due west of magnetic north.

Hi Dennis - the declination I used to set the orientation of the tower sonic was that for Laramie, Wyoming. The true declination for our site is listed below - I missed by 2 degrees 19 min
