Summary: LAI transect, preparing for predawn water potential tomorrow

WHO: Nancy Kiang, Nina Kilham (technician in Tracy Benning's lab)

WHEN: camped overnight, Wed-Thurs, 5/23-24/01
WEATHER: Wed 93°F, Thurs 88°F , grasses all brown, with interspersed wheatgrass(?) still green.
WHAT: Measure pre-dawn and midday leaf water potentials and Leaf Area Index of transects.

5/23/01.

Arrived ~ 3:45 pm (Daylight Saving Time).
Purchased fire extinguisher and tree trimmer at Ione Ace Hardware.
Sunset: 20:00 DST (19:00 Standard Time)
Took LAI of transects T1 and T2 after sunset.
Re-filled pressure bomb tank from portable tank. Portable tank started at
~1400 PSI, and refilled pressure bomb tank to only 800 PSI. Next time we
re-fill both tanks in the lab.
