Sherman Island: 2007-04-10 14:00:00 (DOY 100)
Author: Dennis Baldocchi
Others:

Summary: Check & download data at Sherman Island. Take TDR soil moisture readings. Take Spectrometer reflectance reading. Sample additional water table ports. Sample LAI & plant height.

When: Date: april 10, 2007 , Day: 100 , Watch Time: 1400 .

Where: Sherman Island Methane Study

Who: ddb

Weather, clear, nice breeze, mild temperature

Phenology: weeds about 2.5 feet tall

Tasks

  1. check and download data at Sherman Island
  2. Take TDR soil moisture readings
  3. take spectrometer reflectance reading
  4. Sample additional water Table ports
  5. Sample LAI and plant height

Tube inlet at 2.5 m

Need to reste inlet and place closer to sonic.

Put heat flux plate #1 back into the soil.

Sherman Island Pasture Site

  1. Fence and gate power: v.
  2. Datalogger Solar Panel and Batteries: v;
  3. Reading from Gillsonic screen before downloading data. (The value of H2O and CO2 should be in the range of 0 – 5 v.)

  1. Methane Sensor
    1. Cell Pressure (near 159 Torr?): 162_____
    2. Cell Temperature: ___29.3__
    3. Double Check

i. Sample rate: 10Hz?:____

ii. Methane ppm Hi flow: 1.874 ppm

iii. Methane ppm, low flow (remember to put back in high flow:

iv. Pump status??:___fine_

v. Filter Status:______fine

vi. Check Water in tube:

Water table is measured manually relative to the top of the extruding tube:

3 ft and 4 tenths

Last time I checked the tube was 19 inches

Converted to cm

Water table is 55.37 cm

(feet + inches/10)*12*2.54 – 19*2.54 = depth cm

Used this to compare with Druck from day 97 data logger output:

Which was about -53 cm, ranging between -53 and 56 cm

Druck output psi = mv times range(psi)* supply voltage/sensitivity

Range = 5 psi

Supply voltage on cr10x is 5 vols

Sensitivity is 0.98 mv/V/psi

1 psi = 0.68948 m H20

Sensor is 75 cm below ground level

Depth (cm) = mv * 12.755 * 6.8948 - 75

  1. downloading data
  2. If Swapping Li-7500 Analyzer. (Remove SN# ; install SN# )
  3. Check the fans of air temp. and relative humidity sensors
  4. Check MD-9 system connections
  5. Check CR10X with two multiplexers and sensor values
  6. Check levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.
