Summary: A little rain last week, trees turning brown - not so much at Vaira, Cows broke fences at Tonzi, begin new fence at Vaira, CO2 profile needs fixing, swapped Floor 7500.

When: Date: 9/30/2014 , Day: 273 , Watch Time: 9:30am . Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranch Who: Siyan, Joe Weather: a nice sunny day, dry and hot Phenology: cows at Tonzi; no grass germination yet after a rain event occurred about a week ago; 80% oak leaves turned into brown; still green oak leaves were hung out there. Summary Swapped memory cards of CR1000s at three sites. Everything worked well. Checked and downloaded winflux and met data from PC at Tower, Floor, and Vaira. The CO2 profile system wasn’t calibrated because the IRGA seemed not to read the zero properly (~233ppm), but CO2 reading was OK. Joe is going to fix it soon. Joe worked on setting up a new fence at Vaira. The fences around Floor and Tower were broken when we got there; fixed. Measured midday water potential of oak leaves (oak leaf ~30 bar) Read dendrometers Measured soil moisture Measure groundwater well Vaira_Grass Site Joe worked on setting up a new fence at Vaira. Downloaded Phenocam images. Swapped the memory cards of CR1000. Checked the fans of air temp and relative humidity sensors at Vaira. YES! Downloaded met and soil CO2 profile data. Checked levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.YES! Checked rain gage, make sure not clogged. YES! Tonzi_Tower Site The fences were broken when we got there; fixed. Downloaded Winflux data from PC. YES! swapped the memory cards of CR1000. download Phenocam images. Yes! checked the fans of air temp. and relative humidity sensors on the tower and the floor. YES! (all connectable) CR23X3 – floor-Met CR23X6 – tower-Met CR10X2 – floor-Met Soil CO2 profile: CR23X5 – soil CO2 profile Closed gate and set up fence. YES!
