Summary: Moved portable tower to High Veg. Took water samples all locations. Water higher at High Veg. More caterpillar herbivory.

Portable Tower
We arrived at the portable tower at about 11:00 PDT. It had just finished raining. Moved portable tower to High Veg site. Took water samples and pictures at both Low Veg and High Veg. The water was still low at the Low Veg site, but it was back to normal, if not high at the High Veg Site. Sara reported that the water level at the thermocouple rod in High Veg was above her knees. She also reported seeing more caterpillars at the High Veg site.

CO2: 401 ppm (after cleaning)
H2O: 670 mmol m-3 (after cleaning)
signal strength = 76.36%
p = 101.6 kPa

sos = 344.6 m s-1
CH4: 2.0 ppm
RSSI: 71% (after cleaning)
Reservoir was almost full.

Met looked good. Downloaded flux and Met data.

Permanent Tower
We met Stephen Chan out at the site, who was checking on the Ameriflux setup and removing their radiometers (but not the flux instruments). All seemed well but there the caterpillar herbivory is clearly ramping up again. Took water samples.

H2O: 660 mmol m-3 (after cleaning)
signal strength = 100.67%
p = 101.6 kPa

sos = 345.1 m s-1
CH4: 1.94 ppm
RSSI: 67% (after cleaning)

Met looked good.
Cleaned rad.
Reservoir was 2/3 full â€“ refilled.
