Summary: Removed Wat1 soil temperature rod for fixing in lab. Removed water and surface DO probes for repair. Fixed wiring of conductivity probe, new Tule program - readings good.
| Mayberry 2014-01-10 We arrived about 11:30 PST. It was sunny, calm, and pleasant out. Dennis and I attended to the tower and downloaded data while Joe went out into the water to attempt replacing water/soil temperature rod Wat1 with a more rigid rod. It was too difficult so he brought the whole rod in to replace in the lab. DO probes ‘water’ and ‘surf’ were both reading high and were pulled. The ‘surf’ DO probe looks corroded. Joe fixed a problem in the wiring of the conductivity probe and the probe was reading well after uploading the new program with corrected computations (tried several weeks ago). Joe had the great idea of replacing the flux tower tripod with the Tule tower scaffold in order to safely raise the flux tower height. Now that the veg has filled in at the site, the water and veg instruments currently on the Tule tower can be located directly adjacent to the flux tower. 7500 readings: CO2: 418 ppm (forgot to check after cleaning) H2O: 495 mmol m-3 (forgot to check after cleaning) signal strength = 91.9% (forgot to check after cleaning) t: 19.1 °C p = 102.6 kPa Current 7700 readings: CH4 = 2.3 ppm (same after cleaning) RSSI = 62% (85 after cleaning) Topped of reservoir; it was almost full. |
