Summary: Standard field work, swapped IRGAs at Tower and Floor, did not collect data at VR other than CR1000, replaced co2 profile pump, replaced HMP45 fan at VR

Summary
  1. Swap IRGAs at Tonzi Tower and Floor.
  2. Checked and downloaded data from PC at Tower, Floor.
  3. I did not download met data at Vaira because I was not sure what to do. So, I decided it’d better not to touch.
  4. Swapped memory cards of CR1000s at three sites. For each one, I made sure that the red LED light on the CR1000 was blinking once a second when I left.
  5. Replaced the dead fan of HMP45. Took one layer off from the enclosure in order to screw in the top one.
  6. Put on new pump for the CO2 profile system, and it ran well. I couldn’t do calibration because the software refused to connect to Li820. (see screen shots)
  7. Read dendrometers
  8. Measured soil moisture
  9. Measure groundwater well:

Vaira_Grass Site
  1. Fence and gate power: 12 v.
  2. Panel and Batteries: - v; - amps; - amps.
  3. I did not download met data at Vaira because I was not sure what to do. So, I decided it’d better not to touch.
  4. Swapped memory card of CR1000s at three sites. The red LED light on the CR1000 was blinking once a second when I left.
  5. Replaced the dead fan of HMP45. I dropped the screw that holds HMP45 on the pole. I had to unscrew one in the PC enclosure for the temporal use. I also dropped the caps for electronic connection, and use tapes for connecting wires. I took one layer off from the sensor enclosure in order to screw in the tope one. The layer was left on the top of the datalogger enclosure.
  6. Check levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.YES!
  7. Check rain gage, make sure not clogged. YES!
  8. Closed gate and set up fence. YES!

Tonzi_Tower Site

  1. Fence and gate power: 12 v.
  2. Panel and Batteries: - v; - amps; - amps.
  3. Reading from Gillsonic screen before downloading data. (The value of H2O and CO2 should be in the range of 0 – 5 v.)

  2. check the fans of air temp. and relative humidity sensors on the tower and the floor. YES!
  3. Check rain gage, make sure not clogged. YES!
  4. Check calibration cylinders;

CO2 1400 psig; flow 10 psi; 404.02 ppm.
N2 1900 psig; flow 10 psi.
