Twitchell Rice: 2013-06-13 12:15:00 (DOY 164)
Author: Cove Sturtevant
Others: Laurie, Yanel
Summary: Changed 7550 clock back 1 day. Check data for DO probe. All else well.
Twitchell Rice 2013-06-13 We arrived about 12:15 PDT. It was warm (24.5 C) and sunny with a moderate breeze. The rice continues to grow steadily. Laurie and Yanel did spectral and clip plots. Iryna and her crew did LAI at the site yesterday. Laurie and I also tested Joes new handmade LED NDVI sensor over the rice and other surfaces. Laurie has that info, she will pass onto Joe. I attended to the tower, checking instrument readings and cleaning the sensors. The clock on the 7550 was 1 day ahead, reading 6/14 instead of 6/13. The time was correct. After downloading the data, I set the clock back to 6/13 at 11:29 GMT-8. 7500 readings: CO2 = 380 ppm (390 after cleaning) H2O = 500 mmol m-3 (500 after cleaning) signal strength = 77 (78.2 after cleaning) p = 102.2 kPa sos = 348.6 m s-1 7700 readings: CH4 = 1.85 ppm (1.91 after cleaning) RSSI = 26 (bumped to 72 after cleaning) The reservoir was full. MET looked good. I attached the DO probe to the sidewall of the water pressure well. Readings from the DO probe looked better today (as compared to the low values last week). If anything, they were on the high end this time, reading 27.4 in water. We should take a look at the data for this sensor to make sure everything is ok. Cleaned radiation instruments and solar panels. |
