I arrived about 9:30PDT with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and warm with little to no breeze. As the day progressed a nice breeze sprung up. It was windy on the way back through the Delta in the Afternoon. The trees are fully leafed out. The grass is seeding and turning brown in spots with shallow soil and lots of sun.

The tram continues to run okay. I checked the clocks. The computer was behind by about 1 minute. I set this with my cell phone time and then at 11:16PST I manually synched the clock on the Tram data logger.

Siyan calibrated the CO2 profile system and then we swapped both tanks of cal gas. The CO2 profile IRGA still seems to be drifting more than usual.

I added two SHF plates to the soil CO2 system. I had to move the wiring around on the CR23X to free up channels. The six CO2 sensors are now on differential channels 1-6, the six thermocouples are on SE channels 13-18, the two SHF plates on differential channels 10 and 11, and the solar voltage on SE channel 24. The ground was already hard and crumbly so we poured some water on the ground after inserting the SHF plates to the south of the data logger box. SHF #1 is sn 000141, SHF #2 is sn 00067.

The MD9 network had stopped working the night before. I traced wires and found nothing unusual. I restarted the Floor computer and the MD9 in the box with no improvement. I disconnected branches of the network in turn and was not able to isolate the problem. There are many weak places in the cabling and if it does not fix itself I will probably have to re-cable the whole thing or go to a wireless option.

I serviced the z-cams. I checked the camera times by manually taking photos at times noted on my cell phone. I will have to remember to check these next time I collect the cards:

I replaced the foam holding in the bottom two new HMP45s with some PVC fittings. The new fitting are not quite right either, but better than the foam. Looking at the data in the field the new sensors looked okay, so I did not fiddle with the wiring.

The radiation sensors looked clean.

I swapped the CR1000 cards.

Siyan did the standard fieldwork.
