Summary: Swapped radiometers, put radiometers on folding boom, moved eddy sensors to northwest corner, started autocamera.

2012-16-21 I arrived about 12:30pm PDT with Jaclyn. It was warm and windy with a clear and sunny sky. The corn has almost doubled in height since last week. The tallest is now about 30cm tall. The missing rows were planted last Friday and are already sprouting a few cm tall. We swapped the existing PAR and Rnet sensors with another set with longer cables. The new sensors are: NR01 sn 1454, PAR_in sn 110340, PAR_out sn 110337. These sensors were mounted on the folding boom over the first couple of rows of corn in the east field. I need to put a cable anchor on the top of the boom to help keep the cables out of the way when folding the boom. I also moved the eddy sensors from the southwest corner of the tower to the northwest corner. Next time we swap the Li7500, we can remount the box below the sensors. The tipping bucket needs to be moved to the southwest corner. I put the memory card in the autocam. It seems the screen does not go off when the script is running. The sonic and IRGA need bird spikes. The IRGA has a mount for the spikes. We collected data and Sara and Carina arrived to do the field work. After leaving the Corn site we swung by the Twitchell tower to get the autocam images and clean the LI7700 mirrors. Before cleaning the RSSI was about 25 and afterwards it was about 60. |
