Arrived about 11:30 PDT. Clear, sunny, light breeze from north west. Small fields south of our field have been harvested. One harvesting pass along the edges of the field next to our tower done in previous days. In the afternoon of this day heavy harvesting activity near our tower. Harvester going back and forth, offloading to transfer truck.

Jim had turned our radiation boom to the south over the box and solar panels for harvesting activities. I turned it 180 degrees so that the PAR and net sensors are to the north over grass at the edge of the field.

Main objective was to install a scroll pump in place of the diaphragm pump. I moved the shelf up for the scroll pump to fit underneath. First try with the scroll pump I had left the cap on the output port and the pump blew the fuse in the LGR AC receptacle. I had to get a spare fuse from the Sherman site.

Next try everything seemed to work. Scroll pump started up even with air conditioner running (20Amps from generator is enough). I forgot the output fitting and tubing so the scroll pump is venting into the box. The diaphragm pump has been doing this, but a lot more air now and more heat from the scroll pump.

Doors of the box are beginning to warp and gaps in the middle top and bottom are beginning to let bugs in (spiders, wasps). I put in hooks top and bottom on both doors that hold the doors closed and need to be twisted out of the way to open the doors.

Data copied – card not swapped.

CR23X program changed at 13:30 to make rain/ppt as total instead of average.
