Summary: Calibrated 7700, started raining, swapped wash reservoir in-line filter,
2025-02-19 East End Carlos, Ella, and I arrived at 11:00 PST. Ella is an undergrad who took Dennis’s class and is interested in fieldwork. Again, there were a lot of geese/swans on the old Twitchell Alfalfa site and surrounding fields. It was overcast, breezy, and started drizzling around 11:30 while we were doing the 7700 calibration. We had a few big storms in the past few weeks. The staff gauge read 58.5cm. The wash reservoir was empty. I swapped the in-line filter for a new one and refilled the water. I didn’t see any drips. I meant to check the spray/spin after the calibration but didn't after it started raining at the end. Carlos reviewed how to download the data and downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. Ella cleaned the sensors. She reported some dander (probably cattail fluff) stuck on the LI-7500 spars. We calibrated the 7700 (offsets were small). It started drizzling during the calibration but the mirrors were protected by the hood and the signal strength was fine. We put the spiky hat and spray nozzle back on after the calibration. I measured the surface water conductivity. Surface, 577uS, 8.4C The 7500 read: 433ppm CO2, 491mmol/m3 H2O, 15.7C, 102.1kPa, 91SS--96 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.09ppm CH4, 23RSSI—74 after cleaning We left at 11:50 PST as it started raining harder. |
