Trip Purpose: Repair CR23x3 at Vaira and Tower CO2 profile pump failure

Tonzi Ranch:
4Aug 10:14 arrive at tower and profile system pump is not running. 12 volts present on pump power leads 2” from pump. Cut positive lead and insert DMM. No current is being drawn by pump motor.

Begin diagnostics on profile system by removing DC/DC converter board from system and discover what appears to be cold or failed solder joint on negative lead of pump/converter output pin. Repair and reassemble system. Check continuity on all leads to and from converter board. No other problems discovered.

Power up CO2 profile system and run zero/span sequences. All appears well.

Remove DCS900 webcam and install Vivotek IP6112 webcam, bat and script files.
Remove DCS900 webcam software shortcut from startup menu.

Note: I changed the power wire configuration for the LI7500/Sonic/Webcam and it now appears that the level of noise visible on the H2O and CO2 traces has been SIGNIFICANTLY reduced!!! When I return with the next round of data we should run a power spectra and demonstrate whether or not this is true???

Create a “Scheduled Task” in control panel to actuate Batch file IP6112.bat beginning every day at 7:00, once per hour for a 12 hour duration.

5Aug05 14:30 arrive at tower and pump is not running. Cold solder joint not the problem. Strike the pump with screwdriver and it starts running. Remove 20 Ga power cable between bulkhead and pump and replace with 16Ga conductor.

6Aug05 10:00 Arrive at tower and pump was not running. Shut down system and remove DC/DC converter board and replace pump DC/DC converter. Restart system and perform multiple Zero/Span sequences. OK all appears well.

Install wheels on pull cart.
