Summary: Install NL115 on datalogger and confirm camera writes to CF card

Ari and I arrived at 13:05 PDT. It was hot and breezy and the corn was at about knee height. This was just a quick stop to install a card module to the datalogger to collect camera photos. I installed NL115 sn 6761 and power cycled the CR1000. Card status in LoggerNet was ok and the NL115 ethernet lights were on. I set the clock in StarDot tools.

I used telnet to access the camera and ran phenocam_upload.sh. It seemed to take longer than I expected, but after a few minutes there was an RGB image and its corresponding metadata file on the card. No IR photo yet, but I terminated the script because it was almost 00:15 after the hour when the script should run automatically. After 5 minutes, I refreshed the card in FileControl and saw new photos. The RGB photos were there but I don’t think I saw the IR photos yet. Hopefully all photos will be there next time.

Carlos and I were just here yesterday but I couldn’t get the card module to work because I didn’t try power-cycling the CR1000. I wanted to make an extra stop today so we could get good phenocam pictures while the corn is growing rapidly.
