West Pond: 2022-02-02 10:15:00 (DOY 33)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Daphne, Ariane
Summary: Standard data download, windy - laptop blew off data logger box, disconnected broken TC18.
West Pond 2022-02-02 I arrived at 10:15 PST with Daphne and Ariane. It was clear, sunny and super windy from the northeast. There was lots of cattail fluff in the air, in our eyes and in our mouths. The water level was 37cm but the surface looked solid being completely covered by water fern (Azolla) and cattail fluff. The cattails and tules are thoroughly brown and well knocked down. The willow are still mostly without leaves but some have buds. I went to get cinder blocks by the levee while Daphne and Ariane serviced the tower. All the two-bay cider blocks are gone now. There are a bunch of one-bay (half size) blocks and 8x16x2 inch flats. The 7500 read: 410ppm CO2, 189mmol/m3 H2O, 12.6C, 102.2kPa, 98SS – 99 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 50RSSI – 82 after cleaning. Broken bird spikes in the 7500 were replaced. The wash reservoir was about 75% full and was topped up. Met, cam, USB and minidot data was collected. The minidot and water level desiccant was changed. TC18 has been reading NaN for a while so we disconnected it from the multiplexor. The wind blew the laptop off the data logger box and the loose “enter” key was lost in the wetland. We left at 10:35 |
