Summary: Standard field work, full flowers and filling cobs, did performance test on FD chamber, some lost data from AM16/32 sensors, Diffuse PAR missing data too.
| Bouldin Corn 2021-07-20 Daphne, Ariane, Carlos, Dennis and I arrived at 12:50 PDT. It was clear sunny and breezy. All the corn has flowers and large cobs with tassels. The water level in the well was higher. Carlos cleaned the flux and radiation sensors, he said the radiometers were dirty. No data from the Purple Air – no files on the card. This time when the card was reinserted the green and blue LEDs were blinking happily. Some spotty data from the sensors plugged into the AM16/32 mux. Daphne unplugged and replugged all the terminal blocks. The 7500 read: 399ppm CO2, 707mmol/m2 H2O, 28C, 101kPa, 101SS – 102 after cleaning. The 7700 read: 1.94ppm CH4, 40RSSI – 80 after cleaning The wash reservoir was full. The Plant Labs Arable was just above the corn. I raised it another 38cm. Ariane did veg height. Daphne collected flux, met, camera, FD, z-cam, and IRT data. Ariane did veg height. We unfastened the FD chamber sn FD20180067, set it on its side and ran a performance check on it. Soil co2 read 534.8ppm and ambient co2 read 551.1ppm – these are farther apart than expected but the software did not complain about it yet. We reset the co2 to 400ppm and reinstalled the chamber. The diffuse PAR RSB had funky looking data. The shadow band was a little loose. I removed the set screw and replaced it with a longer Philips screw. The shadow band was not so wobbly but maybe the proximity sensors are still not close enough to trigger properly. I thought about bringing it in but it would be some trouble and I thought I had enough parts to make a spare in the lab to swap out next week. We left at 13:05 |
