Summary: collected porewater samples and removed outlet boards

I arrived at 9:30 am, it was sunny and windy in the Delta although at West Pond the wind wasn't as strong. The wetland was dry, no standing water, and the staff gauge mark was at 28 cm, i.e., at the mud level.

I sampled porewaters at the tower (@-10, -30, -50 cm) and at the 0.5 footprint site (@-20, -30, -40, -50, -60 cm - here the water table was below -10 cm).

Porewaters seemed to be well mixed without a clear stratification with depth, like it is usually the case. This was particularly true at the 0.5 footprint site.

Average porewater readings at the tower:

Conductivity: 350 uS
Salinity: 0.19 ppt
pH: 6.06
DO%: 1.86 mg/L
Temp: 18.3 C

I removed the outlet boards to the soil surface level to drain the remaining standing water at the low lying areas. I will put the boards back on the 18th of August
