Summary: Checking site after wind knocked over BC tower, data download/cleaning
2019-12-02 Bouldin Alfalfa Joe and I arrived around 14:55. It was a cool and overcast day and had been raining for the past 2-3 days. We came from disassembling the Bouldin Corn tower, which had fallen down with the high winds a week before. We wanted to check on all the towers to make sure they were still standing. Since the roads were wet and we didn't have a 4x4 truck, we parked on the levee road and walked down. The tower and solar panels looked good. The alfalfa was short (20-30 cm tall) and full of intercepted rain. I downloaded met and flux data. I did not download camera or FD data. Joe cleaned the flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was 1/2 full; we didn't bring water to refill it. I changed the 7700 spray from 30 seconds to 10 seconds. LI-7500 readings: CO2 441ppm H2O 574ppm T 13.3C P 101.8kPa SS ??--> 100 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 1.84ppm RSSI 33-->68 after cleaning We left at 15:25 to check on the Twitchell and Sherman Island sites. All other sites (BA, WP, EP, EE, SW, and MB) had standing towers and solar panels. We did not visit SB, but Tyler visited the same day and did not tell us about any apparent destruction. |
