Field Notes

When: July 8, 2004 (D190) arrived at 1030 PST
Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranch
Who: Dennis Baldocchi, Siyan Ma, and Ted Hehn
Weather: Mild day, Sunny, nice, cool breeze.
Phenology: yellow grass, dead

Summary

1. Overall EC systems were running well. Data were downloaded. Met data were not downloaded due to the switch between Drive C and D.
2. The power line at Vaira Site was still in temporary shape. It should be replaced shortly.
3. Soil moisture was measured.
4. Leaf samples were taken from the trees with Tag 231, 241, 225, 29, and 33. I am going to put on flags on these trees and take leave sample from them each time.

Tonzi_Tower Site

1. Fence and gate were good. > 12 v
2. Panel and Batteries were working well: 4.1 apm, 13.3 v.
3. Calibration tanks: CO2 500psi, flow 30psi; N2 1250psi, flow18psi.
4. Dennis checked CO2 filter on lower 2 levels of CO2 profile system. Not too dirty.
5. Swap Li-7500 CO2/H2O Analyzer: Remove sn 0065; Install sn 0041.
6. Download data successfully. However, a lesson - Gillsonic.exe was frozen automatically. If it is happened, just shut down power and reset up.

Tonzi_Floor Site

1. Fence and gate were good. >12 v
2. Swap Li-7500 CO2/H2O Analyzer: Remove sn 0073; Install sn 0035.
3. Download EC data: the RAW data were found in two folders D:\Tonzi\ (D186-187) and D:\Tonzi_2004\ (D181-190). Siyan downloaded and moved them to subfolder \raw\ of D:\Tonzi_2004\. ???Raw data were supposed to be saved under D:\Tonzi\????
4. No Met data were able to be download. Ted worked on it.
