| When: Tue-Wed., 7-8 Jan03, JD-7-8 Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranches Who: Ted Hehn Weather Trip Purpose: Install Diffuse & 4 way net radiometers Vaira Ranch: 7Jan03 14:00 arrive -Battery box for flux system was destroyed, spread all around site – clean up pieces and remove -cr10x reflective insulation was missing and needs to be replaced -laptop key board not functioning – about 20 keys don’t work reinstall operating system – no help remove key board and reinstall – more keys working but not all remove key board and replace with board from other laptop – ok all working now -drive ground rods under PVM modules and install guy cables to hold PVM modules down during high winds -8Jan03 -Stop at True value in Jackson and order electric fencer and insulated handles for Jianwu’s site Vaira- Foggy and overcast 8PVM Regulator voltage 11.6 Array current 2.2 Load current 3.3 -check wiring on PVM array: 1PVM=> 11.6, 0.5, 3.3 2PVM=> 11.5, 1.0, 3.3 3PVM=> 11.6, 1.8, 3.3 4PVM=> 11.7, 2.3, 3.3 Here is the problem: 4PVMs generate as much current as 8. Check wiring: connection on 5th PVM not correct – connected to wrong terminal. Correct and now getting 7.5 amp under cloudy conditions. This situation (running on 4 modules) has existed from the time the system was installed and we can now expect a major positive shift in site power/run time/data capture. CR10x- open channels: DE 4, 5, 6 MUX- channel 14H1 is stripped and unusable Open channels 14 H2, L2; 15 H1 L1, H2 L2; 16 H1 L1, H2 L2 Cr23x- open channels: DE 9,10, 11 |
