Summary: Floor system watchdog timer not functioning correctly – rain/CO2 event expected tomorrow.
| Arrive around 13:30. Overcast & cool, road into Tonzi ranch dry and dusty Begin diagnostics on floor system watchdog timer: 1.)Test1: Power down/up system with PVM regulator switch. OK- watchdog functions correctly -- computer powers up. 2.)Test2: 5:00am time event power reset changed to current time (14:23). Watchdog functions correctly for both computer states: a.) PC on => power off then on b.) PC off => power on 3.)Remove fencer voltage leads from CR10x 4.)Manually reprogram CR10x with original PCWATCHDOG program written in Aug2001 with the exception that I placed the program in table 1 of the CR10x. The floor pcwatchdog program that I modified 2-3 weeks ago was in CR10X program table 2. It may have possibly failed because I placed command codes in table 1 to read the fencer voltage and assigned program table 1 the same execution interval as program table 2 (2 seconds). Program table 1 has priority over table 2. Table 2 has delay commands that sequence port activation/deactivation. If table 2s execution is interrupted by table 1, the sequence of port activation stops and remains in the random status it was at the time table 2 was interrupted. This may be the reason for the random nature of the half-hourly data file graphics. Problems: Net radiometer on tripod near floor met station (closest to data logger enclosures) appears to be skewed. |
