We arrived at 10:40. It was sunny and partly cloudy. The red underpass gate was locked, so we came in through the dirt roads from Bouldin Alfalfa. They roads were still a bit dusty.

Elke cleaned the EC/radiation sensors and refilled the wash reservoir; it was 2/3 full. I collected met and camera data.

We moved the soil sensors out into the field, most into the cordoned-off area with Tyler and Heather’s chambers. The Delta-T soil moisture sensor is right next to the tower because its cable was not long enough. Some of the thermocouples pulled loose when we were moving them, so we re-taped them back in place.

I replaced the temperature sensor on the LI-7550. A homemade sensor came down and a factory sensor went up. The temperature was 72.2 C before swap and 21.7 C after swap.

We swapped LI-7500A: sn 1594 came down (calibrated on LI-7550 embedded software 8.7.5), sn 75H-2176 (calibrated on LI-7550 embedded software 8.5.0) went up. I saved the old, full configuration: “sn1594_0614_20171110_BC.l7x.” I uploaded the new configuration file: “sn2176_0674_20171109Lab_cal.l7x.” I updated the pressure coefficients, reset the box, and checked the pressure coefficients were correct.

LI-7500 readings:
CO2 486.9 ppm --> 412.5 after swap
H2O 812 mmol/m3 --> 538.7 after swap
T 72.2 C --> 21.7 after new temperature sensor installed
P 101.3 kPa --> 101.8 after swap
SS 102 --> 90.7 after cleaning

LI7700 readings:
CH4 1.97 ppm --> 1.96 after cleaning
RSSI 30.0 --> 74.0 after cleaning

We left at 11:20.

After we got back to the lab, noticed missing data since 10/26 9:00 PST: Campbell Sci volumetric water content sensors, VWC, PRI, NDVI, difPAR. This was right after we left the field site; probably power connections were loose after we re-wired the power supplies. Also, I probably forgot to move the Licor GHG files, so hopefully they are on the USB stick at TA.
