Summary: Collected data, spider web in 7700 path, serviced water sensors, gave moth balls to ants and wasps, added miniDOT.

Elke and I arrived at 13:15. It was sunny and mild with a breeze from the northwest. We could see smoke from the fires to the north and west. This wetland is still very green but the edges of most of the cattails have been chewed by caterpillars.

We collected the data. TC 7 and 23 are nan. There was a big spider web at the top of the 7700 path causing an empty wash reservoir and very low RSSI values. I took the hat off the 7700 and did my best to evict any spiders.
The 7500 read: 377.9ppm CO2, 501.2mmol/m3 H2O, 22.0C, 101.8kPa, 97.7SS â€“ 103.8 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 3.0ppm CH4, 1.2RSSI â€“ 1.9ppm CH4, 73RSSI after cleaning.
The wash reservoir was refilled and tested okay.

There were small black ants in the data logger box. We left them some moth balls. The small box that houses a power strip below the wash box is also chock full of wasps. I opened it just far enough to drop in a couple of moth balls and closed it up again. This could be replaced with something better if we can figure out a date when it is not so occupied.

We serviced the water sensors. The boom had blown about 30 degrees to the east twisting around the coupling on the scaffolding post. I moved it back into positon and tightened the coupling. The barnacles on the fluorometer housing seem to be getting bigger. It is also heavily slimed with algae growth. The measurement windows seem okay though. Still we should pull it and do a cleanup of it either in the field or back at the lab. We added back a mimDOT sensor sn 1220 at the lower measurement location.

We took some water samples for Isabel.
