East End
It was sunny, calm, and clear. We saw the small tent again by the Closed Canopy Temporary Tower, but it's filled with trash and looks abandoned.
Temporary Tower 1 – Open Water We arrived at 10:40. The water level was lower than last time, and less aquatic veg than before. The water level is so low that the bottom of thermocouples are laying on the bottom of wetland. I swapped the met battery and downloaded met and Licor GHG data. Kyle cleaned the EC sensors. Joe cleaned the solar panels. LI-7500 readings: CO2 414.1 H2O 520.5 T 22.0 P 101.4 SS 106 --> 109 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4: 2.16 RSSI: 46.7 --> 71 We left at 11:05. Permanent Tower We arrived at 11:10. It was clear and warm with no breeze. The water level is very low and the water sensors are all out of the water. Kyle cleaned the EC and radiation sensors. I downloaded met, camera, and Licor GHG data. The SHF plate 1 is gone. Kyle tracked the cable into the wetland (underneath our radiometers), but couldn't find the plate. We brought the cable back in for sn 6649. We re-installed the conductivity probe sn 6494 at the same level as the other water sensors at the well. Since the water level was low, it wasn't reading any conductivity data, but temperature was 24C, so the sensor seems ok. We left at 11:45. Temporary Tower 3 – Boardwalk We arrived at 11:45. It was sunny and warm. Many fresh otter presents on the boardwalk. A few wasps buzzing around. Kyle cleaned the EC sensors and solar panels. I downloaded met and flux data. One of the sonic spikes were facing downward again; Kyle fixed them. LI-7500 readings: CO2 16.8 H2O 532.7 T 28.6 P 100.9 LI7700 readings: CH4: 2.2 RSSI: 38 --> 79.5 after cleaning We left at 12:00. Temporary Tower 2 – Closed Canopy We dropped Joe off around 11:10 to start dismantling. Kyle and I came back around 12:00 to pack everything in the truck. I brought back the miniDOT and HOBO conductivity sensor for Sam to test in the lab. sonic: sn 153805 LI-7700: sn TG1-0211 LI-7550: sn AIU-0614 LI-7500: sn 75H-2176 HMP45: sn U3030046 Rnet: sn 021029 PAR: sn 050597 SHF plate: sn 10809 CR6: sn 2115 AM25T: sn 4852 Water level CS 451: sn 70011236 miniDOT: sn 1219 HOBO conductivity: sn 11020258 On our way out, we dropped off the scaffolding, boardwalks, and plastic conduit at WP for storage. We brought everything else back to the lab. We left at 12:30. |
