Mayberry: 2017-03-23 14:15:00 (DOY 82)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Joe Verfaillie

Summary: Calibrated 7700, Reinstalled thermocouples 23-25, Pulled thermocouples 17-22, Tried to install fluorometer, Swapped 7700 wash box

2017-03-23
Mayberry

We arrived at 14:15. It was mostly sunny with a slight breeze. The water level was about the same.

We calibrated the LI7700, sn TG1-0357.

LI7700 readings:
CH4: 1.91 --> did not write down number after calibration
RSSI: 39.2 -> 77.3 after cleaning

Joe installed the new fluorometer on the water-sensor boom, and it had power, but it was not sending data to the datalogger.

I re-wired and re-installed thermocouples 23-25. The rod is installed at the same location it was removed from: in the water about 2 m from the SE corner of the tower. The top of the rod is about 30 cm below the water surface (at the current water level).
z = 0 at the soil surface.
-Thermocouple 23: z = -8 cm
-Thermocouple 24: z = -2 cm
-Thermocouple 25: z = +4 cm
[Note by Daphne Szutu on 2019-03-05: Looking at the data, these depths are wrong. The correct order for thermocouples 23-25 is is +4, -2, -8cm].

Thermocouples 17-22 were reading >30 deg C, which is suspicious (the other thermocouples were reading ~15 deg C). I uninstalled these thermocouples and will check them in the lab. Thermocouples 17-19 were in the tules about 4 m from the SE corner of the tower. Thermocouples 20-22 were in the tules, about 4 m from the NW corner of the tower.

Joe downloaded the met data.

Joe installed a new wash reservoir box and swapped out the cable and tubing. We ran out of laptop power so we weren't able to test the pump. Joe refilled the reservoir using water from the uninstalled box. There were many wasps in the uninstalled box.

We left at 16:00.
