Summary: Field mowed, cleaned up wires, sonic bird spikes, HMP60 fan, reoriented eddy sensors.
| Bouldin Alflafa 2016-08-16 I arrived about 13:00 with Alison. It was sunny and warm with a slight breeze. We drove along and parked on the levee to the east. There is no good place to park on the levee or turn around and the walk down the levee is steep. I think we should approach the field from the north east. We will see how that looks when it rains. The alfalfa was recently cut but not baled yet. They cut right up to the side of the scaffolding. Alison cut the alfalfa still standing under the scaffolding. Alison put split loom on all the radiation cables. I ran a wire for the HMP60 ventilation fan and hooked it up – this is a 24V fan. I straightened out the cables from the eddy system. I reoriented the eddy sensors. Originally the base arm was pointed at 314 true and the sonic was at 310 true. This put the sonic to the north and the gas analyzers to the south. The 7550 was 57cm from the sonic in a line parallel to the base and this line was 24cm offset from the 7700. I realigned the sensors so the sonic was to the west (upwind) and the sensors were closer together. Afterwards the base arm was pointed at 316 (check this) and the sonic was at 260. The 7500 was 19cm from the sonic on a line parallel to the base at offset 19cm from the 7700. The short side of the sonic is pointed at 245 true. I put bird spikes on the sonic. The 7500 and 7700 still do not have spikes. I collected the data. The 7700 read: 1.865ppm, 44.4RSSI – 83.2 after cleaning The 7500 read: 400.6ppm CO2, 540.1mmol/m3 H2O, 32.14C, 101.0kPa, 103.4SS The solar panels are still pointed to the north east. So far they seem to be okay, but I’ll need to change their slope to the south for winter. |
