Summary: Communication wire between laptop and met station damaged.
| Jan 16, 2001 Misson and Gu visited the Vaira site. The communication wire between the laptop and met station got chewed off by the cows. Temporarily recollected and restored it but need to be replaced later. The communication between met station and laptop worked fine. The cap of one of the battery boxes was off on the ground with ice on it (wind?). Found water inside that box. Punched several holes at bottom of the box to let water out. Downloaded data from c:\vaira (*.raw, *.nrt, *.err, *.flx, *.23x, *.10x) and moved these files to the corresponding subdirectories in c:\vaira_2001). Replaced the LI75-0035 by LI75-0042. The 0-5 v outputs were set to 13-20 mmol m-3 of CO2. Reboot the computer and everything worked fine. Double checked channel connections by sensors: Total solar: Channel 1 Net rad: Channel 2 PAR face up: channel 3 PAR face down: channel 4 Need to check the data reading programs to see if these channels are correctly used. Took four leaf area samples. Canopy heights: 1.5 cm, 2.0 cm, 2.0 cm, 2.5 cm. Did not visit Tonzi’s Ranch since forgot to bring the key. |
