3-12-2009 When we arrived about 10am, the tram had stopped part way down the track due to a dead battery. Probably need to improve the algorithm to check the batteries charge before starting out. I replaced the battery and it went back to work. I also adjusted the tram to run once every hour instead of once every 30 minutes. Looking at the data collected, there were 3 and a half full days. Also seems it’s starting up at 3am instead of 7am. Still have a problem where the end of the return pass (near charging station) is reported multiple times. Set up an automated zenith digital camera. This uses an Olympus C-990 zoom and a command line interface called photopc.exe to talk the camera over RS232. Images are taken and downloaded to the Floor PC every 2 hours from 7am to 7pm and saved in the Data folder with file names of the form cap_20090312010000.jpg. The camera is located west of the floor tower inside the electric fence. An opaque enclosure for the camera would be better than the clear one now used to keep the sun off the camera. Might need to change the bat file for naming the images or use 24h clock to prevent overwriting AM images. |
