Summary: Field half mowed, clipped around ground sensors, clipped a few cables too

I arrived with Cove about 9:15. We were waiting to meet up with the Ameriflux crew to start an inter-comparison at East End. Half of the upwind alfalfa had been mowed so we thought we would cut around the ground sensors and check on the site while we waited.

One pass along the edge of the field including between our tower and ground sensors has been mowed. We cut the alfalfa all around our ground sensors, but there was still some standing alfalfa surrounding the area we cut. In the process we also cut one of the Vaisala CO2 cables for profile B to the north and we cut three theta probe cables. I can splice the theta cables in the field next time. All the Vaisala will be replaced with the new boards, cables and probes soon. I will also put cables in aluminum conduit.

Cove also checked on the tower, cleaned the 7500 and the solar panels.
