Perfectly clear, mild spring day. Grass is green and functioning, soil is moist.
Trees across the ranch and range are starting to leaf out this past week.
1. Moved tram system to near the understory eddy flux system. The tram needs fine adjustment, but most is done. It is now in the footprint of the understory eddy flux system.
2. Need to replace small screws (with allen wrench fitting) to connect one span of track. The nut fitting was starting to strip and we couldn’t work the screw all the way in. I prefer replacing them so they can be removed easily in the future.
3. The large Nuts holding track to tripods had some rust. A squirt with wd-40 may help
4. We need a 1 inch wrench at the site for these bolts
Checked out the soil CO2 probes. The tree with the probes has NOT leafed out yet. CO2 levels in the soil are fairly similar at the tree location (without grass) and under the grass
Checked flux systems and they were operating well.
Youngryel took spectral reflectance measurements
1600 went to Vaira. Checked flux system. Aok. Cleaned radiometers. Bird crap on Rnet lite on the tram system (it is still at Vaira). Also faint film on 4 band radiometers. Cleaned with alcohol.
