Summary: Move tower to original location on berm in the northern half of the field, field fully flooded.

I arrived about 9:30 with Dennis and Jaclyn arrived a few minutes later. The field is completely flooded, but no birds. It was cool and windy from the southwest with some broken high clouds.

The big generator was not running. The task for today is to move the tower to the original location on the berm that juts into the field in the second check from the north.

We removed the sonic and IRGA from the tower and disconnected all wires between the tower and the box. We removed the batteries from the top of the box. Then we tied the skids of the box to the back of the tower and towed it to the original site.

Then we went back for the tower. We folded the legs of the tower and the three of us were able to pick it up and put it in the bed of the truck. Dennis walked behind the truck holding the radiation boom.

At the original site we had to clear a thick mat of Bermuda grass to make room for the tower and the box. The tower was placed at the west end of the berm and the box is as far back to the east as the LGR tubing would allow.

The water well was reinstalled. The metal crossbar near the top of the pipe is 51.5cm above the ground surface and 33.5cm above the water level – 18.0cm of water above the ground surface. The 1m mark on the probe cable was secured to the metal crossbar at the top of the pipe.

The soil sensors were reinstalled in the field. SHF plate #246 with soil temperature set and theta probe went to the south. A single SHF plate #244 was placed just a little north of this set. SHF plate #2211and soil temperature set went west of the tower. SHF plate #243 and soil temperature set went to the north.

The rain gage was installed to the south of the tower.

The sonic N spar is pointed close to magnetic north.

Radiation boom is turned to the west over the water and is level. The pyranometer was cleaned, leveled and had its desiccant changed.

The sonic and IRGA centers are 322cm above the ground below the tower. The LGR inlet is 310cm above ground. The sonic is 30cm south of the LGR inlet and 23cm south of the IRGA. The HMP45 is 235cm above ground. The radiation boom is about 240cm above the water.

LI7500 sn 0042 was installed and sn 0035 was removed for calibration.

We removed the AC power line from the big generator that ran along the edge of the field to the old tower site. One length of this line was reconnected to the box and the plug was left on a fence post near the entrance to the berm awaiting a small generator. When the generator is installed and the line plugged in the LGR and other AC stuff in the box should power up.
