Trip Purpose: check 3 flux systems and download data, soil moisture probe reading, dendrometer reading, A/Ci curve for oak leaf at Tonzi Ranch.

Overall: All flux systems were running great last week. We did not miss any flux data. All met and soil instruments worked fine and communicated with PC.

Tonzi Ranch: Arrived at 9:00am,

Modified program for Jianwu’s Cr23X data logger, so that he has DOY and time in his output file.

Floor system: Fence working, flux system was running. All dataloggers communicate with pc. Nancy’s datalogger CR10X4 still has 6 channels with –6999 output. PV reading 13.4, 12.1, and 1.8. Gillsonic output after reboot the laptop;

One minor problem we have at floor system is that power plug starts turn bad. When I opened the computer, pc lost power due to bad connection. Ted: We need do the same thing as for the laptop at Tower.

Tower system: Fence working, flux system running great last week. Download data and reboot pc. Gillsonic output after reboot the pc.

Soil moisture point probe reading. The battery for the meter is getting low, I took it back to the lab for charging.

I finished three A/Ci curves on oak leaf. Sampled those oak leaves after the gas exchange measurement.

I saw three people herding all cows to the east site of Mr. Tonzi’s ranch. They told me they would get all the cows out on Saturday (June 29, 2002). I need ask Mr. Tonzi about the number of cows.

Vaira Ranch: arrived at 3:30. Fence Ok, flux system also running great last week. PV reading 13.6, 9.4, and 3.2 at 3:50 pm with half fully charged battery. Soil moisture probe reading (see above). Tried to upload the modified CR10X code (for 4 band KZ net radiometer), but the zip drive could not read the files on the disk. After rebooted pc, and tried it with the zip drive at Tonzi ranch, still had the same problem. I gave up. We need do it next visit. Sonic outputs after download data;
