Summary

Because Ted downloaded data on May 18, 2004, we did not download data this time. The main objective of this trip is to swap Li-7500 CO2/H2O Analyzer in Tonzi_Tower, Tonzi_Floor, and Vaira-Grass EC systems. Overall EC systems were running great. Jianwu’s system didn’t work well. Dennis modified some parameters to connect to MD-9. It looks like we need resend original program. Dennis fixed the met file and filename problems in Vaira.

Tonzi_Tower Site

1. Fence OK.
2. Swap Li-7500 sn 0035 to sn 0065. Take 0035 back to Lab.
3. Change the pump in CO2 profile system. Flow meter didn’t show any flowing air first because tubes were backward. Now it’s correct. Dennis reset up the flow meter: 2.5 LPM.

Tonzi_Floor Site

1. Floor EC, system was running great.
2. Swap Li-7500 sn 0042 to sn 0073. Take 0042 back to Lab.
3. PV reading 13.8, 14.3, 2.3. All dataloggers work properly. Gillsonic outputs are all in the right range.

4. Moisture readings (Soil is getting dry.)
5. Took more than 60 blue oak leaves from trees randomly for lab analyses: LAI, weight, and nutrient (e.g., C/N). Siyan measured LAI and weight. The leaves were separated into 6 groups, 10 leaves in each group. They were oven-dried until Monday noon.
6. All Jianwu’s 8 probes are working, but Dennis modified some parameters to connect to MD-9. It looks like we need resend original program.
