10/7/2010 I arrived about 11:30 with Siyan and Sonia. It was warm and sunny with a few high clouds and a light cool breezy. The trees are yellower that last month, but still relatively green. A little evidence of rain in pocked marked dust on the boxes and enclosures, but probably not much. I swapped the LI7500 for Siyan. Sn 0065 went on the Tower and sn 0073 came off. I straightened the bird spikes on the sonic. Sn 0041 went on the Floor and sn 0042 came off. On my way up the tower to swap the LI7500, the CO2 profile pump was not running. I banged it a few times with a screw driver and it started to run and continued to run until we left about 2:30. I need to order some new ones. I serviced the z-cams swapping cards and washing the glass dirty from a little rain. The cable to z-cam 1 had been chewed in two places. I cut out the chewed section and spliced it back together. Looks like we only lost one day of photos on Oct 6, 2010. I picked out set five of Jaclyn’s photo degradation samples along the north side of the tram. The tram was running. Motors might be sounding a little noisy. Probably should order some spares. The PAR sensors were tilted about 20 degrees. The upward facing one was tilted to face the west the bottom one was tilted to face the east. I corrected them and added some electrical tape to try to prevent reoccurrence, but I should probably rework the mounts this winter. I downloaded data from the IRT sensors. The battery was just at 12V probably need to swap it out next month. The sap flow stations were reporting except for CR10X13 to the east on trees 5 and 6. This one had lost its program and would only connect intermittently and throwing errors. I probably need to swap it out next time. |
