Weather: clear
Phenology: Varia grass starts turning to yellow (>80%). Clovers dominated the understory layer of the grassland and showed purple follows. Tonzi grass turned to yellow (>80%).
Summary
1. Help Stefania on oak sugar sampling. Kevin did photosynthesis measurement at the same time. Todd measured midday water potential at the same time. Photosynthesis rate 2 – 11 umol m-2 s-1, ci/ca 0.4 -0.7, gs pretty consistant, water potential -29 - -31 psi(?). Great variations in individual trees. Pine needles had similar photosynthesis rate to oak leaves.
2. collect grass samples at Tonzi and Vaira, almost the last samples of the season.
3. did not download data and check the systems. Ted was here yesterday.
