Summary: Swapped Licors; fixed programs that renamed campbell data logger filed; growth is low for measured plant height.
| Feb 8, D 39 Yesterday we visited the Vaira and Tonzi Ranches. We down loaded data at the Vaira ranch and swapped Licors. Installed #35 and removed #73. We need to double check the span of the A/d, as there was some variation and set them all at 10 to 25 mmol m-3 CO2 for 0 to 5 volt range. We were working on the system from around 1100 to 1230. The small programs renaming campbell data logger files were not working correctly (actually one was and the other was not). We have to re-edit the files and names. I put the old exe files on Task 1 and Task 2 (md9_2.exe and md9_3.exe). But one of the new ones, eg md9_3_v2.exe was working. I need to double check the problem. The goal is to produce file names with 3 digits for the day number, so days less than 10 are 00x, days 10-99 are 0xx in naming convention. At present I need to manually rename these files to be compatible with the processing program. Measured plant height in the field and in the fenced areas. The pasture was 3 cm +/- 1.64; grass in the fenced areas was 7 cm +/- 2.78. Despite all the grazing, there is not a huge differences in height yet. Nights and soils are cold and growth is low. Infact the tallest vegetation is under the radiative protection of towers and solar panels. Vegetation in the Frost fence is short. |
