Summary: Rain gauge still not logging data, attempted to fix them. Data collected.
| Dec 12, 2000, D347 Had been raining and cloudy past few days. Since I was in Davis, I headed out to the Vaira ranch to check instruments. Arrived at 1400 to 1500. The system was operating. Made some changes to try and fix rain gauge. We are still not logging rain data. Looks like Henry programmed it for pulse, but instructed me to wire up for control 8. I changed the wire to Pulse one. Also we were averaging ch 1 to 7 and rain is on loc 7, then later we totalized. I am worried that pre-averaging to totalizing, may lead to a reinitialization of the location. Did not have tools, so had to kludge the wire. It may be too short but it is installed on P1. Also removed the average of loc 7 that was junk. Also adjusted clocks so I poll the cr loggers after midnight. There was time creep and the logger was polled so that midnight ended up on the wrong file and I had to edit by hand. D348-350 There is a gap in the soil flux data, gr2_yrday.10x between 3482230 and 3501100. The voltage on the logger dropped below 10.7 volts. It was back to 11+ on day 350. |
