Summary: Moved tower and transect out of the field for harvest. Brought in soil TC and on SHF for repair. Brought in DO.
| Twitchell 2015-09-11 I arrived about 9am with Sara. It was warm and sunny with some high thin clouds and an increasing breeze from the west. They will start harvesting rice next week. Black birds have already begun the harvest. We removed all the dowels for the vegetation transect and all the ground sensors. We turned the power off and took down the 7700 to move the tower out of the rice field to a spot just south of the box. We reinstalled the 7700 and measured the sonic position. The sonic was pointed at 30 degrees magnetic and the mounting cross bar is 249cm above the ground. The 7700 read: 1.95ppm CH4, 49.5RSSI – 69.0 after cleaning – spider webs were making it spikey. The 7500 read: 410ppm CO2, 495mmol/m3 H2O, 77SS, 101.58kPa We restarted the camera after the power outage. We removed the soil TC profiles for repair and testing in the lab. We also remove SHF 3 sn 00246 that has a broken cable. It may not be repairable as the cable broke too close to the plate. We also removed the DO probe sn DO-08. |
