Calibration |
Notes: |
Elke Eichelmann & Katrina Cone
We borrowed this LI-6400 from the Silver lab and they had not zeroed and spanned it for about 10 years. We checked the zero with the chemicals and they were a little off, so we set the zero and the span using cal gas and a dewpoint generator. Considering how long this analyzer had not been calibrated the settings were actually pretty good. But it also hadn't been used for most of that time.
Then we zeroed and spanned:
Zero:
Checked using chemicals: CO2_S: 15.2 CO2_R: 7.8 H2O_S: 5.7 H2O_R: 5.7
Set zero using cal gas (zero air):
Before: CO2_S:16.8 CO2_R: 6.82 H2O_S: 0.32 H2O_R: 0.282
After: *All fluctuating around zero.
Span with 408.97ppm cal gas:
Before: CO2_R: 404.4 CO2_S: 404.8
After: *Fluctuating around 409
Span with 16.0C dew point:
Before: H2O_R: 15.06C H2O_S:15.02C
After: *Fluctuating between 15.99 and 16.01 |
