This is data collected by Miriam Johnston and Jackie Ho from Harvard at Tonzi from 2018-06-06 to 2018-06-8. All pine and oak taller than 1.5m in 14 Circular pseudo-random plots from the 1 km2 area centered on the Tonzi Ranch flux tower were sampled for DBH and height. All plots had radius 13 m, except A, N, and W, which had radius 20 m. Additional Large and tall trees were added for statistical power. Measurements were made with a Trimble GeoXT 6000 GPS and post-processed for differential corrections, DBH tape, and Nikon Forestry Pro (NDC1432, 3 point method) for height. More large pine trees were also cored, however their positions were recorded with a phone GPS. The data file column labeled spp contains the flags: 1 = Centroid, 2 = QUDO, 3 = PISA, 4 = unknown

Figure 2. Height as a function of DBH fitted with power functions. A little better shape and correlation. Â
Map 1. Tree Locations. Circles indicate trees with DBH and Height. Triangles indicates Pine trees that were also cored. |
