Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranch
Who: Siyan, Xingyuan, Jessica, and Youngryel
Weather: Sunny, partially cloudy, nice breezle
Phenology: Vaira grass is in the seeding stage, and Tonzi grass looks taller but its development is slower than Vaira grass about one stage, within the stem increasing stage. See many flowers in purple, yellow, or white (broad leaf). See a lot of clovers at Vaira. Going to separate cloves from grasses and the difference in leaf area and dry weight.
Summary
  1. The EC system worked well at the three sites. No data missing. Data are downloaded.
  2. RRR was stuck at the charging station, but the machine still kept going forward. The tracks were damaged. Power is disconnected now.
  3. CO2 profile system worked well.
  4. Couldn’t measure soil moisture with TDR because no see TDR at lab when loading
  5. read the dendrometers. Many old dendrometers are out of range now. See new dendrometers have been installed by John’t group‌ Don’t know how to read them.
  6. Youngryel took spectrometer measurements and site pictures.
  7. Xingyuan worked on her sapflow system
  8. Jessica took Ac measurement

Vaira_Grass Site
  1. Fence and gate power: 12 v.
  2. Panel and Batteries: 13.7 v; 14.7 amps; 2.8 amps.
  3. Reading from Gillsonic screen before downloading data. (The value of H2O and CO2 should be in the range of 0 – 5 v.)
