Dennis, Miao and I arrived at Vaira at 9:15 PDT. Miao Zhang is a visiting scientist in Trevor’s lab for the next two years. It was clear sunny and mild. The Sierras were hazy, there is a fire burning to the north but I could not smell smoke. There was a recent largish burn along Hwy 16 from Sacramento. The water hole is still mostly full but the grass was crispy.

Dennis and Miao took end of season biomass samples and Dennis measured the well.

I collected the flux, met, FD and camera data. I swapped the 7500: sn 0042 came off and sn 75H-2182 went on.
0042 read: 438.9ppm CO2, 333.5mmol/m3 H2O, 22.8C, 99.1kPa, 103.2SS
2182 read: 438.6ppm CO2, 324.7mmol/m3 H2O, 23.3C, 99.1kPa, 98.8SS

I cleaned a few strands of spider web from the camera window, the radiometers were clean.

Dennis said the Jaz had a low battery. We went to the pond.

We left at about 10:30
