I arrived at about 12:35 PDT. It was mild and mostly cloudy with gray puffy clouds moving in from the south. It is still super dry but there was a little rain â€“ enough to warp the cardboard solar shields on the FD chambers. The trees still look brown and sparse here. The road in has been improved with a gravel topping.

I tested the tipping buckets here with our new method using the peristaltic pump and 237ml of water which should result in 50 tips. 1/2 turn of the screws (CW+, CCW-) should adjust the number of tips by 2-3% (1-1.5 tips).
SP2 bucket sn 48132-611 got 52 tips â€“ I turned the screws one turn CCW.
SP3 bucket sn 48102-611 got 50 tips â€“ No adjustment
The main bucket sn 24872-999 got 54 tips â€“ I turned the screws two turns CCW

I swapped the incoming PAR sensor on the Tower top, sn 010164 came off and sn 110340 went on. Incoming PAR has been reading bad for the last month or so. I think the wires at the PAR sensors are broken.

I collected met, flux, camera, FD data, moisture point, wells and DBH data. All seemed well.
The Tower 7500 read: 404.1ppm CO2, 572.0mmol/m3 H2O, 98.9kPa, 21.8C, 102.1SS
The Floor 7500 read: 410.2ppm CO2, 505.8mmol/m3 H2O, 98.0kPa, 25.1C, 101.4SS
The IRT CR1000 was nearly up to date which is unusual (radio link usually needs a restart). In the lab I discovered that the CR1000 is losing power at night and getting restarted every day. It needs a new battery.

I did a performance check on the Open FD chamber â€“ its CO2 concentration was offset reading negative. The performance check reset it to 400ppm and it seemed to be okay afterwards. I did the same for the Tree1 chamber and its CO2 concentration was offset reading about 70ppm. I tried to reset it to 400 but returned too late after the performance check had finished, the chamber had reverted to measuring and would not perform the reset â€“ try again next time.

I cleaned corrosion off the positive lugs on the Tower battery bank sn BB-TT. I sprayed them with sealer. The sealer ran out at the end but I think I covered them all sufficiently.

Someoneâ€™s built a lean to up be the Tower well. Looks like just for fun.

I updated the co2 profile CR6 program. The original program had coefficients for a PBT110 barometer (0.240, 500) but it was using a PTB101B barometer which had different coefficients (0.184, 600). The pressure was reading 1013.26mBar (too high). After the update is was 993.3mBar which matched other pressures at Tonzi (99.13kPa). This pressure is used to calculate CO2 in ppm from the GMP343 sensors. Iâ€™ll have to investigate if this pressure offset makes a difference or not.
